OVHcloud Infrastructure Locations
Keep your critical applications and data close to your users on OVHcloud®'s high-capacity, fault-tolerant network infrastructure. Each OVHcloud location (region or Local Zone) contains one or more data centers and fulfills specific data location, security, and compliance requirements.

FAQ
What is a geographic zone?
A geographic zone is an area of the world which may contain several countries. OVHcloud operates in 3 geographic zones: North America, Europe, and APAC.
What is a region?
A region is a location comprised of one or more data centers where OVHcloud services are hosted. OVHcloud regions are deployed in most geographic zones, such as North America, Europe, and APAC.
What is an Availability Zone?
An Availability Zone (AZ) is a group of one or more data centers physically located in a given region. It is specifically designed to ensure high availability and fault tolerance for cloud-hosted services and applications.
Each AZ has its own independent and redundant power, cooling, and network infrastructure, preventing the entire region from failing in the event of an infrastructure failure (electrical, network, etc.).
In addition to providing higher availability, AZs are also specifically designed to provide better connectivity and lower latency between AZs within the same region.
What is a Local Zone?
A Local Zone is another deployment model that includes essential cloud services to bring services closer to end users. OVHcloud deploys new locations with Local Zones to serve new sites around the world. Local zones can be deployed faster than a data center since they are smaller and require simpler infrastructure.
How do I select a region with Availability Zones or a Local Zone?
In general, we recommend choosing the region closest to your users. If you want your service to be available globally, you'll need to choose several regions.
What is a SecNumCloud region?
This refers to a region with three SecNumCloud-qualified availability zones. Since each zone is independent, they meet all the requirements of the French National Cybersecurity Agency ANSSI and allow you to build multi-zone applications with low latency between availability zones. The north of France is the first SecNumCloud region for OVHcloud, with our Gravelines, Roubaix, and Strasbourg sites. The US and APAC regions do not offer SecNumCloud-qualified availability zones.
