Manage your applications' growth
Add a Savings Plan as your usage grows to maintain cost efficiency while continuing to evolve your architecture and deploy new workloads.
Even out seasonal costs and loads
Use short-term commitments to reduce costs during seasonal peaks, while maintaining flexibility to scale resources up or down as needed, thanks to commitment durations of 1 to 6 months.
How a Savings Plan works
- Savings Plans cover a certain volume at a discount; additional usage is charged at the regular hourly rate.
- Add more Savings Plans to maximize your savings as demand fluctuates.
- Even if you use less than expected, you can still get lower prices on a Savings Plan.
- Savings Plans can be customized to fit your specific needs, with options for different resources, durations, and quantities.

Savings Plan FAQs
What is a Savings Plan?
A Savings Plan is a commitment-based pricing model that reduces costs on selected public cloud resources in exchange for a fixed usage commitment over 1 to 36 months.
How does a Savings Plan work?
You select a resource, how much you need, and for how long (commitment period). If you choose options within the limits of your Savings Plan, you get discounts on included resources. If you exceed the agreed limit as per your commitment, you’ll be billed on a pay-as-you-go basis for additional services. For example, if you get a Savings Plan for 10 B3-128 instances for a month, you can run up to 10 B3-128 instances at the same time without extra costs.
- If you use 8 B3-128 instances, you only pay for your commitment, which is 10 B3-128 instances at a discount.
- If you use 12 B3-128 instances, you get a discount on the first 10 instances and then pay the hourly rate for the 2 extra instances.
Your Savings Plan determines how much you save automatically. You don’t have to track the instances you use manually; the platform calculates and applies costs transparently.
Which products are eligible for a Savings Plan?
B3, C3, and R3 instances (excluding Local Zones), along with services based on these instances like Managed Kubernetes Service, are eligible for Savings Plans. More Public Cloud products will be eligible soon.
When does a Savings Plan become active?
Once the Savings Plan has been validated in the OVHcloud Control Panel, it’s automatically operational the next day, from 12:01 a.m. UTC.
How is a Savings Plan billed?
A Savings Plan is billed on a monthly basis starting from the next month, and continues until your commitment ends.
How do I renew my Savings Plan automatically?
Automatic renewal for the Savings Plan is disabled by default. You can enable it via the OVHcloud Control Panel. Once the original commitment ends, a Savings Plan is renewed for the same period. The advertised price applies automatically upon renewal (or auto-renewal).
How do I launch a Savings Plan?
You can set up a Savings Plan directly in the OVHcloud Control Panel, within a Public Cloud project. Then select the service, quantity, and commitment period. See how in this guide.
What is the minimum resource quantity required for a Savings Plan?
The minimum amount of resources needed in a Savings Plan depends on the specific resource. For B3, C3, and R3 instances, the minimum quantity is 1 instance for a minimum period of 1 month.
Can I have several Savings Plans?
Yes, you can set up several Savings Plans for the same Public Cloud project.
Can I set up a single Savings Plan for several Public Cloud projects?
No, you can’t set up a single Savings Plan for different Public Cloud projects. However, you can set up different Savings Plans for different Public Cloud projects.
Can I modify a Savings Plan?
Only your Savings Plan name can be changed. Currently, it’s not possible to change the duration, volume, or service in a Savings Plan once it has been set up.
Can I stop a Savings Plan before my subscription ends?
No, you can’t stop or cancel a Savings Plan. You still have to pay the full amount, even if you delete the linked resources.
What happens when a Savings Plan subscription ends?
At the end of your Savings Plan subscription, the discount will no longer apply. The resources previously covered by this Savings Plan will be billed at the advertised standard price. When one Savings Plan ends, it doesn’t impact any other Savings Plans you might have in the same Public Cloud Project.
