Understanding Kubernetes Visually at KubeCon 2025
OVHcloud is excited to be part of KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA in Atlanta, November 10-13, 2025! This annual event is a must-attend for all things Cloud Native and Kubernetes, and it's one of our favorite events of the year.
This year, we’ve rolled out new features like Managed Kubernetes and Managed Private Registries on A-Z, and we’ve got big plans for 2026, including expanded MKS regions and the general availability of the OVHcloud CLI.
In the lead-up to the event, we’ll be sharing a series of blog posts featuring talks from our Developer Advocate, Aurélie Vache, who will deliver three sessions at KubeCon. Next up: “Understanding Kubernetes in a Visual Way.” Stay tuned for more details on her talks and where to find us at the event!
For now, let’s dive into Aurélie’s talk, happening on Monday, November 10, at 12:20 PM EST.
Here’s a sneak peek in her own words!
Kubernetes has become the de facto standard for deploying and operating containerized applications. But understanding Kubernetes can be difficult or time-consuming.
Several years ago, I asked myself how I imagined the concepts of Kubernetes: a pod, a deployment, a service, a secret, a config-map, a cronjob… and then I created a new way of explaining Cloud technologies.
In the first part of the talk, I will tell you my story. How, during more than two years, I worked every evening/nights/weekend to explain Kubernetes in sketch notes, in blog posts, videos, and finally published everything (and more) in an illustrated book of more than 270 pages (with all the concepts included, such as Debugging / Troubleshooting and Tips) and why I continue to do it.
And in the second part, I will explain Kubernetes concepts to you ... in a visual way :-).
Why should you attend this talk?
A Unique Visual Approach: Kubernetes and its ecosystem can be overwhelming, but I have developed a visual way of explaining complex technical concepts. Instead of long explanations or theory, I make Kubernetes concepts simple and memorable through sketch notes and illustrations.
Real-world Experience: I’ve spent years working with Kubernetes in production—everything from developing applications to deploying them in a Cloud Native way. Additionally, I’ve dedicated years to explaining Kubernetes to others, making my insights both practical and accessible.
A Passionate Journey: My story is one of dedication and passion. Over several years, I spent countless evenings, nights, and weekends creating sketch notes, blog posts, videos, and ultimately, a technical illustrated book about Kubernetes.
Learn Kubernetes the Fun Way – Pods, deployments, services, secrets, config-maps, cronjobs… concepts that usually take time to understand and digest will be explained in a different and an easy way.
Great for All Levels: Whether you’re a beginner trying to understand Kubernetes or an experienced user who wants a fresh perspective, my visual method will help you understand Kubernetes and help you retain knowledge more effectively.
Open-source contributions: As a CNCF Ambassador, I actively contribute to several CNCF projects like Kubernetes, Falco and Kyverno and regularly provide feedback to the community. You’ll gain insights not just from a user’s perspective, but from someone directly involved in shaping these CNCF projects.
Lighting talk: For the first time I will present this talk as a lighting talk. It will be a new format for this talk and a big challenge to take up: briefly present its history then Kubernetes and its main concepts in just 10 minutes!
Can’t wait to test OVHcloud Managed Kubernetes Service (MKS)?
After discovering or (re)discovering Kubernetes through this talk, don’t hesitate to deploy your applications on OVHcloud Managed Kubernetes clusters.
Stay tuned for the next blog post in this series, where we’ll highlight the third talk Aurélie Vache will be presenting at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon NA 2025. Visit with us at Booth #1043 or us.ovhcloud.com.
